Mandatory and Professional Development Training

Healthcare workers are required by law to have the requisite professional training, certification, and authorization as care providers. They must also demonstrate continuous competence and judgements to provide safe and competent care.

In British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia, all categories of nurses are regulated by a single college. In all other provinces and territories, each nursing category has its own regulatory body.
